Bio

Dee Walsh is a visual artist that works primarily through painting and drawing. Her work is rooted in a fascination with architecture and the reimagining of spaces. She creates paintings and drawings that aim to push the boundaries of a perceived space. Her practice draws on improvisation, where decisions are made in response to a structure, a certain angle or spatial construction.

Dee has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally. Recent group shows include OXO Outset Open, Galway, Cairde Arts Festival, Co. Mayo and The Surveyor Exhibition, Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, Co. Meath. She is currently working towards a solo show at Droichead Arts Centre in 2027.

​Awards include The Surveyor Award, from The Solstice Arts Centre, selected by Patrick T Murphy (RHA), she has received several Create Louth Artists Bursaries and was awarded the Tyrone Guthrie Residency from Louth County Council. She was also awarded the RC Lewis Crosby award for painting from the Royal Dublin Society (RDS).

Dee has an B.A in Fine Art from Gorey School of Art and Wexford Campus School of Art and Design, IT Carlow (2009) and a Higher Diploma in Education from The National College of Art and Design (2013).

Dee lives and works in Drogheda Co. Louth and has her studio at 8 Fold Artist Studios.
